eBay Live and AI: prep, run-sheet and after-show

Live selling is intense: you're describing, pricing and chatting at the same time as keeping the show moving. AI can take real weight off, before and after. During the show it needs a firm hand.

Before the show

  • Run-sheet: give the AI your lots with notes and ask for a running order that mixes quick wins with star items, with a one-line hook for each
  • Lot cards: ask for a 20-second spoken description per item — what it is, condition, the one thing that makes it interesting
  • Pricing: agree start prices for every lot before you go live, not in the moment

During the show

If you use AI to identify or describe items live, confirm before you say it. AI suggestions can mix up similar items or get the quantity wrong. Keep the suggestion on your screen, and let your eyes have the final word.

After the show

  • Transcript: record your audio and get it transcribed. It's the best notes you'll ever have
  • Summary: ask AI for what sold, what didn't, what questions came up, and what to change next time
  • Follow-ups: draft messages to winners, and a list of unsold lots for the next show

A note on energy

Shows are a spike, and the day after can be flat. Let AI handle the after-show admin on that low day — you just check and press send.

Share your show timings and what works in the eBay Live space — mornings versus evenings is one of the board's favourite debates. #ebaylive #live
