Guardrails: keeping a human in the loop
Every AI tool in this community follows one principle: AI assists, people decide. Here's why, and how to use the same guardrails in your own selling.
How AI gets things wrong
Knowing the patterns makes them easy to catch:
- Inventing: filling a gap with something plausible — a model number, a price, a policy
- Inflating: one item becomes two, "good" becomes "excellent"
- Merging: two similar items blur into one, especially in photos
- Dropping: the awkward detail, usually a fault, quietly disappears
- Overconfidence: it sounds just as sure when it's wrong
Guardrails that work
- Give it facts, then check its facts. Ask "which words did you add that aren't in my notes?"
- Ask for a confidence level. Treat anything below high as a question to check
- Never let AI send, list, refund or buy on its own. It prepares; you press the button
- Keep a note of what went wrong. Patterns in the mistakes tell you where to look next time
- Cap your spend. AI costs add up quietly — set a monthly limit
How this board does it
- FRANK's answers show where they came from, and how sure FRANK is
- The house-rules check holds things for a person to look at; it never deletes or bans on its own
- Community answers and knowledge articles are approved by a moderator before anyone sees them
- FRANK only learns from posts if you opt in, anonymised — never from private messages, check-ins or the wellbeing space
If you spot FRANK getting something wrong, mark it "Not right" — that's how it gets better. #ai #guardrails
